Virtual reality is a new technology which rose with the development of modern information society. The personal experience makes it a very broad application prospects in many industry areas. At the same time, Integrating virtual reality and many other technologies also provide good solutions for many practical problems. However, due to the scarcity of content and the standards are not standardized, at present the research on virtual reality is still in the rising stage of exploration in our country.In the practical air conditioning engineering, H-D chart is an important tool for characterization of air state parameters and the design of air conditioning schemes. But because of its complicated content, especially the link up of theory and reality is not close. Therefore, in the view of the actual problems in the study and the lack of relevant software. With the aid of virtual reality technology, Lab VIEW, communication is also used as the assistant technology, and in order to solve the problem of the interaction between H-D chart and hardware, meanwhile to be flexible and extensible as basic goal. A framework that can be applied to teaching simulation and industrial monitoring is designed. And then the air conditioning system of virtual reality of simulation environment is developed. The main work of this paper can be summarized as the following four parts:(1) Research of virtual reality technology in two fields of education and industry. First of all, the analysis of system design difficulties and expected goals are given, use the design method of modules with overall and run the transforms in sequence:Firstly, the whole system is divided into three main modules include the construction of virtual environment, the monitoring of air conditioning, the development of H-D chart. Then the integration of each module is designed, Follow-up considering from the overall system, other moudles are designed. Meanwhile use giving full play to the advantages of the software as a purpose is also designed. And the scheme of main modules is the best strategy that based on the comparative analysis of all feasible solutions, nevertheless the whole system uses OPC communication as the interactive interface to integrate which is a comprehensive consideration of the implementation platform of main module.(2) Research on the application of virtual reality technology in the field of air conditioning. After discussing the composition of the typical air conditioning system, based on the representation and description, the scheme of variable air volume air conditioning system is designed. And then through the analysis of the main content of the system, the implementation schemes of using Genesis 64 to realize the visual monitoring of the main links and equipment, at the same time combined with 3ds Max software to build a virtual reality simulation environment are designed respectively. Finally, the OPC communication scheme is designed and analyzed, and through the combination of all process point in air condition monitoring, the design and experiment of OPC communication part is carried out.(3) The scheme of design and realization of H-D chart software. Mainly aimed at the feature of practical and the technical requirements of interactive in the design of H-D chart software, in order to overcome the shortcomings of existing software, at the same time, the composition and application of H-D chart are all considered. Then according to the flexible features of Lab VIEW and its rich toolkit module, take the technology roadmap of the combination of positive and negative thinking, in accordance with the sequence of core control selection, coordinate system confirmation and main content designation. Finally, H-D chart software can not only be used alone but also integrated with system is designed and completed by using the design ideas of graphical and modular.(4) Realization and experiment test of the module and the whole system. At first, according to the design solution of the core module, the simulation of air conditioning, the interactive module of H-D chart, the data storage module and the control simulation module are successively carried cut, then by establishing the connection between each module and OPC to integrate each part as the whole system, in combination with the practical application of industrial design, the visual monitoring process is designed, finally the virtual reality simulation air conditioning system with real-time display, alarm and other functions can be realized.The experiment and test results show that the main module of the air condition system of virtual reality based on H-D chart in this paper all can be used independently, and system runs reliably. It also has a good scalability and usability. In this paper, the solution framework of the design of air conditioning is not only a preliminary exploration in the combination of simulation teaching and industrial monitoring, but also has a certain reference value for the research and application of other fields in the future.
