Presently, the Android operating system is favored by a large number of users and developers, and a variety of intelligent devices that use the Android operating system have been widely applied. As a result, Android smartphone holds the largest market share in current smartphone market. In people’s daily life, Smartphones are more than communication tools, furthermore, they can also be entertainment terminals, mobile office and information sharing devices. As an information sharing equipment, if smartphones have an Internet access, users can realized information sharing with the help provided by some online servers. Smartphone users can choose one smartphone as a wireless hotspot, and other smartphones nearby can access to this hotspot by Wi-Fi to build a termporary network. Users in this network can do the work of file sharing, which could be done through some transfer softwares as well, for example through KuaiYa. But the way of sharing files in current file transfer softwares is that a sender sends files to its receiver after a communication setup stage between them. This file sharing mode is no longer suitable for the situation where users can not communicate with each other previously. In order to solve the abovementioned problem, a temporary network file sharing system based on Android by Socket, multi-thread and SQLite database were designed and implemented. It provides a file sharing platform for users whose Android smartphones can not access to the Internet, and users can share their own files stored in their mobile phones with the platform. Then, other users nearby can download interesting files according to their needs. The function and performance of this system are tested and analyzed in a real environment. Results show that it achieves the expected functions, and its performance meets some pratical requirements.
