How to make efficient coding and transmission, and massive video data storage, which has become a problem that needs to be urgently solved in the field of real-time video processing. In view of the above problems, based on Davinci technology, the thesis makes an in-depth study of the design and implementation of the embedded video software system.First of all, the thesis makes a brief introduction to the core technology in the video transmission system, and putting forward the functional requirements for the design of system software. For the software design of the system, the thesis proposes two solutions: ARM core+ Embedded Linux and DSP core + DSP/BIOS. In the meantime, the thesis analysis and contrast two solutions, and finally adopts the solution which DSP core + DSP/BIOS to design the software in the system.Secondly, making practical application as mostly important purpose and based on DSP/BIOS that the embedded real-time operating system(RTOS), respectively designing the software modules in the systems which are made up of video capture, display, H.264encoder/decoder, network transmission and multi-thread scheduling and so on. Because DSP/BIOS do not support Network, so TI launched the NDK(Network Developer’s Kit) for the purpose of adding the network function to the DSP/BIOS. The video transmission system is made up of capture, encode, transmission and receive, decode, display. Eventually, by testing each software module in the system, which has been designed, In H.264 coding framework with 30f/s and 512 Kbps,the load of the DSP coding side is 43%,however the video image of the display terminal almost has no distortion,the functional requirements of the software is basically achieved.
