With the rapid development of multimedia technology, video surveillance technology is increasingly widely applied in the field of finance, electricity, transportation, security and so on. Embedded video monitoring system is the dedicated computer system composed of embedded processors, embedded operating systems, cutable hardware and software and other components. 3G wireless video surveillance system mainly consists of front-end 3G wireless video surveillance equipment, central relay server, and mobile access to customer premises equipment. Among them, the front-end 3G wireless video surveillance equipment can transmit the collected and compressed digital video signals to the Internet through the 3G network, and users can also browse or control video through the 3G mobile phone.Hardware core employs an audio and video digital media processor TMS320DM6446 by TI (Texas Instruments), which is based on DaVinci technology specifically for the development of multimedia applications. DaVinci technology is based on the SoC integrating the dual-core of DSP C64x + TM and ARM; the on-chip integrates video processing subsystem module, and many peripheral devices; ARM core controls and manages related peripherals; DSP cores is in charge of encoding and decoding algorithms; the DSP and the ARM communicate and interact through the engine and the server. All those meet the Video surveillance'dual demands for rich external control interface and high-speed data processing. By introducing the the overall structure of embedded systems, image processing algorithms, and network transmission based, the author gives the overall implementation scheme of the system, and elaborates on the detail of the 3G mobile video surveillance system hardware platform architecture and the hardware design of the main module interface.The development of broadband networks and the application of digital technology in security products revolutionize the whole security industry. The mobility and high-bandwidth of 3G mobile technology realize digital video surveillance system based on the fixed-line broadband network in the wireless environment as 3G wireless video monitoring system. It solves the restricted distribution, engineering capacity, long project cycle and the lack of mobility and other shortcomings of the traditional wired network security video surveillance, and it also highlights the mobility of monitoring locations, wide coverage, and mobility of the monitoring staff and so on. This system, supporting by TI DaVinc technology and based on TMS320DM6446 processor, transplants portable compiled bootloader u-boot, operating system MontaVista Linux 2.6.10 and 3G network card driver, build the embedded 3G mobile video surveillance system solutions, and it also, by using peripheral equipment to encode and decode video signals, makes the image output more clear, reduces the information amount of the image to meet the wireless bandwidth and jitter. The user can watch smooth videos though PC and TV wall of Windows Mobile 3G smart phone clients. The official commercial 3G networks give birth to true mobile wireless broadband network. Supported by high bandwidth, mobile video surveillance is no longer just a simple image transmission, but transmission of streaming video, and it truly realizes a real-time monitoring, and monitors scene anywhere, anytime.With the development of 3G networks and the processing capabilities of mobile phones, this system realizes real"mobile surveillance."By transforming the architecture of the existing wired network monitoring locations into that of the 3G network in 3G mobile, users can no longer be limited by time and geography, and while they can view the monitor image, and access to alarm information at any time. With 3G networks, the real-time alarm notification, remote viewing and remote playback live video and mobile monitoring will be easy, therefore, 3G mobile video surveillance has a broad application prospects.
