APPs of mobile phone have been widely used in people’s daily life nowadays. The APPs of recording the growth of children are becoming more and more popular. Even the number of elderly users is increasing. The introduction of two-child policy is also attributed to the application of the APPs. The research about APPs is often focused on experience for the user. However, the sight experience of the APPs is still lack of studying. User may be satisfied with the function of the APPs, but leave much to be desired with the experience about sight performance. A further study of the sight performance can improve user experience and promote development of application for the APPs. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research about the identifiability of visual language for the APPs.The concept of APPs of recording the growth of children, the visual language and distinguishable design were expressed in this study. The current application status of the APPs was surveyed. Deficiencies like low identifiability graphic icons, complicated verbal description, dull colour, misleading description and unreasonable layout etc. were found of the APPs; The cause of barrier in recognition was identified by comparing different categories of APPs which record the growth of children in both home and abroad. What is more, user’s cognition, the feature of physical and psychological were also studied. Design fundamentals and methods of four respects were proposed which need to be taken into account in the future design:consistency of interface visual, simple and intuitive, user-orientation and information visualization; At last, four types of design style of pullulating tree for the APPs were proposed based on the fundamentals and methods for satisfying different users.The purpose of this study is to statistical analysis the APPs of recording the growth of children and find the deficiency of current APPs, so as to propose suggestions to improve the application of the APPs. The users of the APPs were classified into different categories according to the theory of cognitive psychology, product semantics and information visualization. The cause of barrier in recognition was identified by comparing different categories. Suggestions for improving the recognition of APPs of visual language in children’s growth record were proposed to improve user experience by making the APPs easier to recognize and perform an ease of use.
