The natural gas central station monitors dispersed stations remotely, and manages the collected flow data centralized. It not only saves a lot of manpower and material resources, but also facilitates the reasonable dispatching and optimal management of natural gas supply, besides, ensures the stability and security of natural gas transmission. Therefore, developing a natural gas central station monitoring system has the vital practical significance. This paper designs a natural gas central station monitoring system with high real-time and stability based on the ForceControl configuration software, Siemens PLC, dedicated gas flow computer and the technical specifications of SCADA system.First, we analyzed the requirements of system function based on the actual requirements of natural gas station flow monitoring. Also put forward the system design scheme and system structure. Second, we introduced the integration scheme of system software and hardware, and introduced the data communication between monitoring center and monitoring unit. We adopts 3G network with TCP/IP to realize wireless communication between monitoring center and monitoring unit. Third, we analyzed the structure and functions of the monitoring unit. Monitoring unit is mainly composed of the flow computer and PLC. The monitoring unit is responsible for the collection and calculation of natural gas flow data and the PID control of field valves. At last, the paper expounded the process of realizing the monitoring software development and functions of central station. According to the system function requirements, central station monitoring software continuously collects the gas flow data, and stores, counts and displays the data. It realized the archiving, display, alarm and reporting of data. Through the user-friendly interface, users can monitor the real-time flow data, query historical data, alarm information and operation records, print reports, and download valve control command. Besides, the paper also designed the dual redundant configuration and issuance of Web for the system.The system test result shows that the system has achieved the expected effect. It can satisfy the functional requirements of natural gas central station monitoring system, facilitate the reasonable dispatching and optimal management of natural gas, and provide an effective method for the development of natural gas monitoring system in the industrial control field.
