The development of CERNET is very rapid in recent years. The data traffic and network attacks on campus LAN increases quickly with the deepening application of Internet. The safety problems have a lot of influence on the normal operation of campus LAN. All colleges and universities are confronted with the question of how to ensure the regular, secure and efficient operation of campus LAN.A real campus LAN is designed, planed and implemented according to some campus LAN’s plan demand. Meanwhile, aiming at above campus LAN’s security problem and some campus LAN’s concrete security demand, a secure and effective campus LAN security monitor system is designed and implemented. Network sniffer module, LAN trap module, intrusion detection module and E-mail security monitoring module are designed and developed. LAN trap module can monitor and record attacker information and intrusion features. Network sniffer module based on raw socket captures and analyzes packets. E-mail security monitoring module utilizes milter recall function provided by sendmail to filter blacklist and whitelist in E-mail. Intrusion detection module uses K-Means algorithm to do the cluster analysis to KDD Cup 1999 data sets, build intrusion detection model and then apply this model to predict network data. Finally, the core functions of campus van security monitor and management are implemented and the security of campus van is guaranteed.In the end, system scan and DoS tests have been conducted and campus van security monitor system has been proved to be secure and has better operating performance...
