In recent years, with the rapid development of communication industry, energy problem has become the focus of national government and environmental groups. As an important part of energy consumption of communications industry, The base station is the key of the communications industry energy conservation and emissions reduction at present. Since 2008, domestic and foreign scholars have been gradually carried out the related research of base station for energy conservation and emissions reduction. Most of studies have focused on composition of energy consumption and energy saving technology, energy performance benchmark for base station is still vacant.As the base station large in quantity, wide in distribution, and different in configurations and complex situation, the work to build energy performance benchmarks is difficult. Based on the present situation, this study collected basic data of base station in four climate regions and the energy consumption of base station in a recent year. And weight the factors which affect the energy consumption of base station by multivariate linear regression model and sensitivity analysis.And then we built the typical scenario based on the factors. Among them, the analysis of influence factors can provide a certain reference for new base station.Meanwhile, combining the study of building benchmarking study with the actual conditions of communication base station, we simulated the annual power consumption of each scenario with EQuest and DeST, and built the standard and energy-saving benchmark for each climate zone. Finally, through comparing the benchmarks with actual power consumption, we got the base station power consumption status. We can realize effective management of millions of communication base stations in China with the benchmark which has strong guiding value.
