The temperature of the billet has directly connections with the two cold water amounts. For the reason that the other machines need some bandwidth to transmit data, with the limited bandwidth we won’t be able to transmit the billet temperature image data, so in the following passage we compress the billet surface temperature image data to reduce the bandwidth during the transmission.In this passage we divide the billet image data transmission within the local network into three parts:image pre-process, image compress and image transmission. The framework of this passage is written as the following:(1)The billet surface temperature image data pre-process. The image is shot by the CCD camera in the two cold area, those images includes not only the billet itself but also other background information, however, those background information has zero effects of the temperature analysis, in order to reduce the data amount in the transmission, we decide to cut it off. During the image process, we monitor and amplified the edge of the billet, get the effective information and finally get the image of the billet with only little background information.(2)The billet surface temperature image data compress. The image data that CCD camera shot is the combination of many 12 bite grayscale data, the nearby points don’t have great change in grayscale, so the compress of the data can reduce the data amount greatly. In compare of data compress ways, we decide to use the way of LZARI.(3) The billet surface temperature image data transmission. The transmission is finished between two computers, we use Socket network programming under TCP/IP agreement to transfer, we use VC6.0 as programming tools to write the code. There are two interfaces-the sending end and the receiving end, shows the name, amount and the time of the data, this system provide us the online monitoring of the data transmission.In the research of the billet image data compress of this passage, we reduced the data amount during the transmission, saved the internet bandwidth, optimized the transmission process, guaranteed a rapid and steady transmission.
