According to the 2015 China Radio and TV Industry Development Research and Development Trend Analysis Report released by China Industry Survey web, during the 12 th Five Year Plan period, China has accelerated the integration of the radio and television network, the Internet and the mobile terminal network, upgraded the digital television technology, and developed the cultural industry. In this context, the radio and television industry is like a hundred flowers in bloom. The rise of the new media has enjoyed relatively strong performance, which has constituted not only a serious challenge to China’s traditional radio and television enterprises, but also a good opportunity for the sustainable development of China’s radio and television industry.This paper argued that the integration of the three networks was the development trend of the current China’s radio and television industry, which were both an opportunity and a challenge. This paper, in accordance with the operation characteristics of project production and the promotion of China’s radio and television industry, focusing on the 2016 Spring Festival Gala of Dalian Radio and Television Station, utilizing the theory of project management, conducted an analysis and discussion in the following parts.The first chapter was an introduction, which discussed the method, the purpose and the significance of the research on China’s radio and television projects under the background of the integration of the three networks, conducted a literature review, and developed the framework of this research.The second chapter was an extensive overview of the related theories on television program production in the area of project management and communication studies. The definition and characteristics of project management were discussed, and the characteristics and influencing factors of television program production were presented. This chapter laid a theoretical foundation for the research.The third chapter was project presentation. Following an introduction of the 2016 Spring Festival Gala of Dalian Radio and Television Station, the paper conducted a feasibility analysis on the planning and initiating of the project, in terms of customer demand, market competition, current conditions, project cost, administrative examination and approval, and organizational structure.The fourth chapter was project analysis. A detailed examination of the 2016 Spring Festival Gala of Dalian Radio and Television Station had been undertaken. Some issues in the area of project schedule, project design, project communication, and project quality had been examined.The fifth chapter was the ending and the assessment of the project. A comprehensive summary of the project had been undertaken. The project was assessed in terms of the organizer, the audience, and the economic benefits. A self-assessment of every functional group of the organizer was conducted. The specific data generated after the assessment showed the gap between the effectiveness and the objective of the project. The economic benefits of the project were also summarized.The last part was the conclusion of this research. From the 2016 Spring Festival Gala of Dalian Radio and Television Station, some useful experiences had been summarized, which would provide reference and guidance for other similar projects.The paper adopted the method of literature review, field research and cross research to examine the current development of China’s radio and TV industry. With a combination of project management and communication theory, an in-depth research on radio and television evening project, under the background of the integration of the three networks, had been undertaken. The outcomes of the research would be likely to improve the management of projects as well as the whole industry.
