Ammonia is an important chemical raw material, which is widely used in industrial production and cold chain logistic. Ammonia leak is the mainly potential safety hazard in production process of ammonia plant, Ammonia escape into the air will form poisonous air masses, Once an accident occurs, rescue personnel have to go to the scene for emergency treatments, if the measures were not taken at the right time, it can cause not only poisoning but also explosion.So far the development of gas alarm system in our country is not comprehensive enough, it is difficult to do early detections of the accident and report the location.This paper developed a set of ammonia leakage alarm system which combined with the node localization of wireless sensor networks on the basis of in-depth study on the ammonia diffusion model in industrial field, it can find the location of leakage accident quickly and provide instructions for emergency treatment.This paper proceed from the research of toxic gas diffusion rule, compared and analysed several mathematical models of the gas diffusion, and then established a model of industrial ammonia leakage based on Gauss mathematical model, understood relationships between the gas concentration and the location of gas leakage source; according to the existing gas alarm systems have difficulty of laying line and poor scalability, we built a wireless ammonia measuring system which could calculate the location of ammonia leakage source based on the measured concentration in the wireless sensor network. The alarm system mainly consists of sensor nodes and coordinators. The sensor node converts the ammonia concentration in its surrounding areas to the digital signal, and transfers it to the coordinator with Zig Bee wireless network. The coordinator makes the corresponding data processing, and then repeats to the host computer with communication technology of Modbus-485. The host computer in remotemonitoring room displays ammonia concentrations in real time and calculates the location of leakage source.Through the performance test of simulated leakage, the experimental result shows that the measurement accuracy of the ammonia leakage alarm system in industrial environment developed in this paper fully meets the related industry standards. As long as sensor nodes are properly placed in the reasonable position, this system can be used in practical application realizes the leak location quickly which makes full use of the advantages of wireless sensor network greatly, it has wide applications in the future.
