With the increase of international container transport business and domestic port throughput, the container transport has become a major research focus, meanwhile ICT technology has exerted unprecedented opportunities and challenges on the development of container transport, moreover, some applications of ICT have made the container philosophy and operation mode changed. As the technical support of a modern container supply chain exchange of information, ICT is a key factor in the relationship between container supply chain integration. Meanwhile container transport problems and the further development of container transport need the support of ICT technology.This article firstly proposes the concept and characteristics of the container supply chain, then distinguish from these concepts of traditional supply chain, port supply chain and container transport. Analyze container supply chain business processes through literature search and system engineering, solving problems by using supply chain collaboration. As information sharing is the major way to achieve supply chain collaboration, the paper will build information platform to achieve the collaboration. Analyze container supply chain information platform architecture business functional requirements, apply software engineering methodology for system architecture’s design and platform requirements functions’ analysis, then build container supply chain information platform architecture (overall architecture, logical architecture, and technical architecture) with cloud Computing and SOA. Then describe the container supply chain information platform architecture’s operation mode and application content.The paper is from the perspective of the whole industry chain to sort out container supply chain business process and to put forward to an information solution with ICT. Realize the design of the three platform architecture based on SOA and cloud computing. The information architecture achieves information sharing between every node of the supply chain, meanwhile, the function of the platform architecture is designed to provide suggestions for future container supply chain collaboration platform, which provides an example for the application of ICT in container transportation. The significance of construction of the platform are pointed out through the case analyses.
