With the rapid development of infrared technology, infrared imaging detection technology has been widely used in many fields, which makes a variety of infrared imaging system developed. However, because of the limitations of fields, time, cost and manpower, there are not enough infrared images that obtained by experience to detect the performance of the systems. In order to solve this problem, the infrared image simulation technology is usually adopted to obtain infrared images to detect the performance of the systems.This thesis comes from an actual project ’the Airborne Infrared Search and Location Technology for Distressed Targets on Open Sea Surface’. With different imaging systems which may be at different position or with different posture, the captured images are different. And the shape, size and location of the ground objects in the image are different. So the imaging simulation for the three-dimensional ground objects is the primary research work. In addition, the shape, size and height of cloud in simulated scene are different, so that the shape and location of cloud in simulated image are different. Different simulated images, the influence is different, so researching the cloud geometric simulation based on simulated images is another important work.According to the specific circumstances of the project, the relationship between the different coordinate was researched, and the transformation matrix was solved. Finally, this paper established the simulation imaging model according to the external parameters, such as focal distance, field of view, and inferior parameters, such as the position, posture of imaging system, which is the basis of the infrared images geometry simulation.This paper studied the three-dimensional ground objects scene imaging simulation. Firstly, three-dimensional models was generated. Then the infrared texture of the model with processing infrared images that obtained by experience was obtained. Finally, the infrared ground objects scene by texture mapping the model was generated. The geometric imaging theory was researched, which was combined with OpenGL to realize ground objects scene imaging simulation. According to external and inferior parameters of different imaging system, the simulation images of the three-dimensional ground objects scene was obtained.To accomplish the geometric simulation of cloud based on simulated images, this paper studied the geometric transformation model of different simulation images, which means how to obtain the mapping relationship of pixel coordinate position in simulated image based on the simulation parameters of the two images of same scene. According to the geometric information of cloud provided in a simulated image, the geometric information in other images was calculated, and then the cloud simulation for the simulated images was accomplished.Three-dimensional ground objects scene imaging simulation and geometric simulation of cloud based on simulated images with software were implemented, and several experiments were carried on. The results of the experiments prove that the three-dimensional ground objects scene imaging simulation studied by this paper can obtain simulated images of the ground objects scene with different parameters of imaging systems effectively and the geometric simulation of cloud based on simulated images can add different clouds in the different simulated images.
