The study of simulator of high-speed infra-red video camera is meaningful to system design, system performance evaluation and infrared imaging guidance countermeasure techniques. Based on system filter theory, all the physical effects of an infrared imaging system are studied to build a simulation system. Considering the slow speed of traditional method of treating images in Fourier frequency domain, a new method of convolution in spatial domain is applied in the system to speed up the simulation. The speed of the system is guaranteed by high speed computing ability of a high-speed signal processor. More specifically, the effects caused by atmosphere is calculated by MODTRAN, a diagram to represent the effects is generated to be used by the hardware; the effects caused by system filter effect is represented by the convolution core of the Anti-Fourier transform result of system MTF( Modulation Transfer Function); System noises and detector response are divided into two forms: multiplicative noises and additive noises. All these effects are processed by a hardware system with two pieces of high-speed signal processors.
