With the rapid development of information technology, the records management has conventional paperwork gradually filled out electronically in enterprises of varying sizes. The electronic records management system came into being to manage electronic records better in the field of file storage and safety. Actions such as records identify, records dispose or records destroy should be audited to ensure security of the electronic records information. In the conventional way, a lot of forms need submitting before auditing, which is difficult for filing and supervising. Besides it is not convenient for the co-workers to communicate with each other. Therefore, it is of urgency that a kind of electronic records management system based on workflow be studied, which can implement the cooperation between various departments work more efficiently.In conventional workflow development structure, since the development process are always driven by business agent, business code and workflow code are developed repeatedly, which cause large numbers of redundant code. Therefore the business code and process code need decomposing completely. JBPM is adopt as workflow engine in this paper for its flexible process definition language and good portability database. In this paper, the electronic records management system based on JBPM will be designed, including the following three aspects.Firstly, we will carry on the demand analysis according to the functional requirements of the system. The system can be divided into four modules including basic configuration, business management, process management and system management. The process management module is a part of the system which involves the workflow.Secondly, the electronic records management system will be designed including the process management module.In this paper, an overall design scheme of process management module will be put forward with the method of JAVA factory design pattern for business process workflow logic processing and the solutions of system business processes coupling.Thirdly, the system performance will be tested. We will focuses on the implement of the complex workflow with Chinese characteristics including circumstances such as task back, countersign and mail. And then the complete function and the process of the system will be tested as well.To draw a conclusion, the electronic records management system based on JBPM workflow is not only beneficial for completing the scientific management of electronic records to increase efficiency between departments but also separating the business process and flow process to improve the utilization rate of the source code.
