Smartphone Game Design Research Based On Urban Elderly

With the development and wide application of science and technology as well as the popularity of mobile Internet and smart phones, more and more people come into contact with the mobile Internet. The popularity of mobile Internet has led to the rapid development of smartphone games. On the other hand, Chinese aging phenomenon become more and more serious, it needs to be resolved in short time. The current needs of the urban elderly are not only the physiological aspects of these basic necessities, they are also concerned about the higher levels of emotional needs, such as companionship and entertainment. So smartphone game is a better entertainment option for elderly.In this paper, the first part introduces the development of the game of the elderly, including the definition, theory, classification and the status of the smart phone games, and introduces the development and current situation of elderly games. Then the second part I analyze the needs of the elderly about games, and research the physiological characteristics and psychological characteristics of older persons. The third part of the paper, I will present design elements and design principles about smartphone elderly, from the elderly centered, availability and emotional three aspects. The fourth part of the paper is a practice of elderly smartphone game, take an example of Yijiale who is a puzzle invented game. Finally, this paper summarized and prospected older mobile game design in the future.
