As the improvement of people’s living standards and the rise of computer technology, the animal breeding information management systems combined with livestock industry and computers are widely used. At present, some developed countries identifine, locate, track, monitor and manage the livestock automatically through wireless sensor technology, IOT technology to achieve the goal of breeding intelligently. Upper-position computer software level of domestic livestock information management system has been rapidly developed, the data collection methods of lower-position computer are changing from traditional manual recording to intelligent acquisition. Based on this, this paper presents the design and implementation of data communication and information management systems with server-side sheep breeding, specific studies are listed as follows:According to the actual functional requirements of sheep breeding management, the basic information table, the ewes breeding table, the vaccines table, the sheepfold dynamic table, the archiving query table, statistics table and user registration table were designed on the server-side SQL 2008 database management platform, in order to store basic sheep breeding information and customers’ personal information; also insert, delete, add triggers and automatic backup operations of the database were designed. The database connection technology based on the MSComm in the VC6.0 environment, and connection technology based on the sqljdbc4.jar in the Myeclipse environment were both achieved.A data communication system applied in large-scale farms was designed under the framework of IOT, consisting of SQL server and handheld terminals. And two-way wireless communication technology under C/S mode which is oriented toward server-side was also designed, which constructed self-organized LAN was connected respectively to Si4432 module through serial port with passthrough technology, to ZigBee module through serial port with ZigBee2007 internetworking protocol, and to WiFi module formed by routers with Socket network programming interface technology, also, in order to achieve the goal that the server can text the female sheep’s due date to phones, a mobile communication technology based on GSM was connected through serial port; And the Internet communication between the server and handheld terminal which connected through serial port is accomplished with Comway wireless serial server software and the GPRS module. The B/S mode web page was designed based on the java web technology on the server side, and visit from computer terminal to the server was achieved based on NAT address translation technology.The information management system for the small-scale farms was designed under the framework of IOT, consisting of RFID collection and the computer. collection terminal consisted of the RFID sensor, the TTL voltage Si4432 pass-through module, and sended the sheep number to the computer wirelessly. Applications were designed based on the MFC framework in the computer. RS232 voltage pass-through module, CP2102 serial converter and MSComm control were used to achieve the sheep number wirelessly; at same time, the interactive interface of sheep breeding information was designed to entry and query information of the basic sheep information, breeding, vaccines, and query the statistical and historical information.
