This paper establishes an automated pig breeding management system suitable for modern pig enterprises. To develop this system, the paper relies on a pig enterprise and analyses the raising process and individual information management. This system provides a good example for the automated feeding model in our country.This management system uses a distributed control structure, mainly composed of automatic breeding subsystem and information management subsystem. The automatic breeding subsystem mainly completes the functions of pig identification, forage adding, feeding information collection, human-computer interaction and subsystems communication. The information management subsystem is mainly used for the remote observation of pig slate as well as forage use, to provide a basis to improve the forage efficiency and reduce the costs.The development of automatic breeding subsystem includes the design of hardware and software of the controller and human-computer interaction. The hardware of controller consists of MSP430F149MCU module, information storage module, real-time modue and analog signal acquisition module, while the software involves driver and application program using IAR development environment. Development of human-computer is to design the corresponding control screen of MD204L using configuration software TP200.The development of information management subsystem primarily bases on the access of other subsystem and feasibility and stability of engineering. C++is used as the development language, while MFC framework class is adopted to design the control interface, SQL Server as the back-end database. At the same time, the multi-threading technology, the Windows timing technology, the ADO access technology and serial communication technology is combined to realize the function of information management of pigs.At present, test run of the system is performing in the field. The test results show the consistency with control indicators while hardware and software of the system work stably. So, the system realizes the function of automated breeding and information management and meets the needs of the users well.
