SAP is an advocates and thought leader of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). SAP R/3, as a flagship product, is the best product in ERP system. SAP R/ 3 is a universally standard system. In order to meet the requirements from all walks of life, the standard system needs customizing and secondary development in its implementation. Chongqing Energy Group is a comprehensive state-owned enterprise, its major businesses including energy investment, mineral, production and services. After several years of development, Chongqing Energy has become a pillar enterprise in Chongqing in the field of energy. But at present, Chongqing Energy is in deep trouble, the contradictions between high speed and low quality; high investment and low return are becoming increasingly evident. Changing business type or upgrading has become imperative. In order to promote the innovation of business and management, to meet the requirements of the company strategy, Chongqing Energy launches the overall planning of informationization project. Under such background, this thesis taking sales business of coal as an example, SD module of SAP R/3 as the study object, discusses the implementation process of SAP R/3 in details, in order to provide a reference for the future relevant implementations.This paper firstly introduces the development process of ERP, SAP and the basic functions of sales and distribution module of SAP R/3. Taking the implementation methodology as the main line, the scope of the project as the key areas of work, this paper analyses the present situation of sales and distribution, including its control mode, organization structure and business process (data management, plan and contract management, delivery management, quality management, posting management), and proposes solutions based on industry experience and the demands analysis. In the Scheme, it suggests to gradually cancel self-operated business in order to realize operational management mode, clear positions and business scope of all levels of units in Chongqing Energy Group. In addition, it also teases business processes, realizing the unified management of master data, delivery settlement, contract, plan, quality, delivery in group-level. To check the system performance, the implementation process has also carried on the unit testing, integration testing after customizing. Finally, develop on-line scheme, which includes on-line time, main steps of going online, on-line range and countermeasures of each unit or department in system switching. At last, this paper also summarizes the difficult elements in the implementation process and implementation experience.Taking informationization as an important means to promote the transformation and upgrading of enterprises and through the SAPR/3, Chongqing Energy Group achieves a unified platform of information management, strengthening them mana-gement of group on the internal management, improving the speed of order process, delivery process, settlement process. It is conducive to enterprise management innovation and the efficiency of management, which lays the foundation for building "a first-class energy production and comprehensive service enterprise". What is more, each industry or enterprise has its own particularity, which limits the versatility of SAP, increases the difficulty of project implementation. Considering this, my paper based on domestic and foreign advanced experience, combining the implementation details of Chongqing Energy Investment Group, tries to provide reference for future implementation of SAP R/3 system.
