As the information plays a more and more important role in the development of the modern enterprise, the management of the business flow becomes the emphasis of the information system of the enterprise. Traditionally, the business flow of the enterprise is embedded in the enterprise software. This causes a problem that the business flow can not be updated in time as the enterprise develops, and this prevents the enterprise from growing rapidly. A solution of this problem is to separate the business flow management from the enterprise flow, that is, regarding the business flow as an independent object.By a careful study of present situation of the technology over the world, and with the consideration of the business Requirement, we find that the engine of the business flow must have the following characters. 1. The business flow of enterprise must be flexible, and the engine of business flow should have the ability to deal with the business flows which are dynamically defined. 2. User interface obtains the desired data by searching the engine of the business flow. 3. The business flow can proceeds automatically under the guide of the user. From these characters and the idea of SOA design.We have obtained a solution of how to manage the business flow as follows: separating business flow from enterprise, describing business flow with standard languages; business flow is divided into basic tasks which cooperate via connection, the state of business flow is saved into database. The user interface and business flow engine exchange data with xml, the service of business flow engine is exposed out with web service, and business flow engine is driven by windows system services.In last part of this paper we discuss the implementation and test result of the project, and now which is being used.
