The Study Of Supervision By Public Opinion After The Eighteenth Congress Of The Communist Party Of China

The Eighteenth Congress of the Communist Party of China had a reports which pointed to strengthen inner-party supervision, democratic supervision, legal supervision and supervision by public opinion. The report also pointed to let people supervise power and to let the power run in the sun. The author thought that the main body of supervision by public opinion was the social public and the object was the government and its staff including the public interest related public figures. The supervision by public opinion was the social public used news media to form public opinion, to expose and criticize the behaviors of the power deviation.Since the eighteenth, the reform of our country’s political system and the government’s anti-corruption efforts have increased unprecedentedly. It created a new environment for the media supervision. In the domestic situation and environment, how did the media supervision changed? What were the characteristics of it? These questions were focuses of this paper. The study found that after the eighteenth, the ceiling of media supervision had been improved and then the supervision by public opinion can supervise provincial officials and above. The closer interaction had appeared between the government and the news media. The means of supervision by public opinion became richer and richer. However, the whole environment of the supervision by public opinion became tightened. Although the eighteenth had brought out many changes, because of complicated factors, such as our country’s political environment, the legal system, the defects of traditional media and new media, media supervision by public opinion still existed many difficulties. The author concluded that if we want to solve these shortcomings, the most important thing was to carry out the top design of our political system, at the same time legal protection for public and medias should be taken seriously. The management of our government departments especially the network supervision by public opinion should be strengthened. The media itself should also keep pace with the times and strengthen its inner self-discipline. Only did multilateral coordination of efforts, supervision by public opinion can run effectively.
