Children’s book publicaton in minority ethnic characters is a book publishing activity related to the nationalities using the common minority ethnic languages and characters. Children’s books are used for the teenagers under 18 or for parents. According to the 6th population census data, there are over 80 minority ethnic languages in our country and nearly 60 million ethnic monitories are using their own language, with 22 nationalities using 28 languages and about 30 million national minorities using their own ethnic characters. Otherwise, according to China press and publication statistical data assembly in 2009 and the related document statistic analysis, we only had 19 publishing houses in 2008 that published thousands of types of children’s books in minority ethnic languages, and the proportion of the books per capita was less than 1‰ for the 6 million students in over 10 thousand primary schools, except the pre-school children. Judging from the data above, we should realize the badly scarcity of books in minority ethnic characters for children and the serious publishing situation.As a branch of the publishing field, the publication of children’s books in minority ethnic characters shares the same properties and functions with the general publications. As the major force of communicating and inheriting minority ethnic language, characters and culture, ethnic minority teenagers have shouldered the historical mission as they were born. The thesis has been endowed with a unique social value to emphasize the ethnic minority teenagers’ mission of inheriting ethnic monitory traditional culture. That has a practical significance of shaping their characters, improving their sense of personal identification and culture, and the sense of ethnic belonging. The research on children’s book publishing in minority ethnic characters is not only part of our publishing work, but also an important movement to push the development of the ethnic minorities, flourish multi-ethnic culture and achieve national unification.Starting from theoretic research method, the thesis will integrate the related theory of the publishing science, communication, philosophy and management, and on the basis of the clear understanding of the properties and functions of the children’s book in minority ethnic characters, make an analysis on the publishing situation, plight and the reasons, holding Marxist dialectical relationship between internal cause and the external principle and SWOT analytical approach. In the end, on back of the above research, it offers some solutions for the development of the publishing course of children’s books in minority ethnic characters, and thus willing to provide some reference for any future researches.
