With the development of phot onic technology is mature with each passing day, the all optical communication network( AON) bas ed on optic al wavelength division multiplexing(WDM) is becoming t he research foc us. WDM with large capacity and high-speed transmission in a ll-optical network i s the foundation of communication network. All- optic al wavelength conversion(AOWC) is a ke y technology in the WDM networks. The introduction of t he polari zation multiplexing OFDM signal can incre ase the hi gh capacity and s pectr um efficiency, the r esistanc e to chromati c dispersion and polarization mode dispersion.In this pa per, theore tic all y der ivat ion a nd simulation have been conduc ted on the al l-optical wavelength conversion for pol arization multiplexing OFDM signal based on parallel pump i n se mic onductor optical amplifier(SOA), and se veral conditions which c an affect the conversion efficienc y in this system have also been analyzed. Thi s research provides a certain reference value in the application and the development of all-optical wavelength conversi on technology whi ch ca n r ealize the WDM all-optical network. The main works are as follows:(1) The AOWC system based on parallel pump four wave mi xing(FWM) for pola rization multi plexi ng OFD M signal in SOA has been theoretically analyze d and several related parameter s which can affect the conversion e fficient in this system have also been the oretically analyzed. I t can be inferred fr om theore tic al analysis that t he polarization insensitive conversion signal which carri es the or igina l OFDM signal can be obta ined. The converted s ignal can be received without crosstalk after polarization beam splitting.(2)Based on the above theoretical analysis, the VPI is used to rea lize the system simulati on. In this s imulation, 10Gbit/s polarization multiplexing 4QAM- OFD M signal of AOWC ha s been realized and the polarization multiplexing OFDM conversion si gnal can be obtained without c rosstalk by adopting direct-det ection optical OFDM(DD- OOF DM)signal. Base d on t his system, several c onditi ons which can affect the AOWC c onversion efficiency in this system have also been s imulated and analyzed, such as SOA gain, the power of signal lightwave, the frequency spacing betwe en parallel pumps a nd the OFDM signal par amet ers including the number of carriers, modulate rate, modulate format andcenter carrier fr equency et al. Based on the above analys is, the simulation results ar e consiste nt with the the oretical derivation. And t he optima l system paramet ers which c an improve the s ystem conversion efficiency and achieve syste m optimization have be en obta ined.
