All-optical wavelength conversion technology achieves the conversion of information from one wavelength to another wavelength.It can solve the problem of channel competition in wavelength division multiplexing(WDM)all-optical network,reduce blocking rate of the network and improve flexibility and reliability of the network.We use various nonlinear effects of nonlinear devices to achieve all optical wavelength conversion.Compared with other nonlinear medium,semiconductor optical amplifier(SOA)has the advantages of small size,low power consumption and easy integration.The wavelength conversion based on four wave mixing(FWM)has the advantage of transparent to the signal modulation format and transmission rate and can achieve multi-channel signals simultaneously wavelength conversion.At present,multi-channel signal simultaneously wavelength conversion is developing in advanced modulation format.However,multi-channel quadrature amplitude modulation(QAM)signals simultaneously wavelength conversion does not exist.Meanwhile,multi-channel signals simultaneously wavelength conversion does not consider the problem of phase noise.This thesis is multi-wavelength conversion of QAM signals based on FWM in a SOA.The specific content is as follows:1.We introduce the development of fiber communication networks and analyze all kinds of all optical wavelength conversion technology.I introduce in detail the research purpose,significance and status of the multi-channel high order signal of all-optical wavelength conversion.2.We introduce the foundation of SOA.We have a basic overview of SOA and analyze the nonlinear effects and basic equations.We theoretically analyze the nonlinear effect and the basic equation of SOA.3.We propose a scheme of double channel wavelength conversion for QAM signal based on FWM.In this scheme,we use coherent double pump lights which effectively prevent the pump phase noise transfer to the converted light.4.We build a system in optical communication system simulation software.It consists of a simulation of double channels wavelength conversion for 16QAM signal based on FWM and a simulation of three channels wavelength conversion for 64QAM signal based on FWM.I analyze the output characteristics of SOA-FWM and the results of wavelength conversion.It verifies the feasibility of the proposed program.
