With the increase of communication network transmission capacity, optical fiber communication technology has developed to a new level.WDM and optical switching would integrate all-optical network, transmission capacity is used to solve the problem,the optical communication technology becomes transparent and convenient, which depends on wavelength conversion technology. All-optical wavelength conversion technology to implement optical label switching technology of Wavelength Routing and wavelength re-use,effective solution for optical network wavelength channels in the limited constraints,and increase the network flexibility of dynamic management and reduce network of channel wavelength blocking Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)technology, with its strong anti-interference,spectrum efficiency, transmission capacity is very large,widely recognized as the core technology of 4G. This article is based on the research background, the OFDM signal optical wavelength conversion are analyzed theoretically, simulation and experimental studies,the main research contents are as follows:A theoretical study of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing optical signal as the signal SOA-based four-wave-mixing wavelength conversion of new programs.Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing optical communications resistant to dispersion effect of the introduction of all-optical wavelength conversion OFDM system with anti-dispersion,interference,many of the advantages of higher spectral efficiency, to achieve long-distance signal transmission.SOA-based theory of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing signal four-wave mixing effect of the structure of three pumps:one pump,vertical pump,and the principle of parallel pump. Theoretical analysis showed that four-wave mixing effect by the SOA, the wavelength of the signal to generate new light will carry OFDM signal;single-polarization sensitive pump model,pump model for parallel pump and vertical polarization is not sensitive to the parallel pumping The maximum wavelength conversion efficiency.Second,experimental research in semiconductor optical amplifier(SOA) based on four-wave mixing (FWM) effect of a single pump,vertical pump,and the parallel-pumped optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OOFDM) signal wavelength conversion characteristics.Signal light source by the 2.5Gb/s OFDM modulated signal and pump directly coupled by the optical amplifier is implemented after the wavelength conversion in SOA.The results showed that four-wave mixing effect by the SOA,the wavelength of the signal to generate new light will be carrying OFDM signals.Wavelength conversion experiments also measured the signal after the OFDM BER performance curve and the constellation of an analysis and comparison of experimental results.The experimental results verify the theoretical analysis.
