With the wide application of magnetostrictive materials, the development of magnetostrictive transducer device is very quickly, magnetostrictive transducer is a mechanical device that it can realize different types of energy’s transformation. It has the advantages of small volume, high efficiency, energy exchange with high reliability. Magnetostrictive transducer’s energy conversion’s size is determined by the driving power supply. Therefore, it is necessary that the researching, designing, production of driving power supply for magnetostrictive transducer.According to the magnetostrictive transducer circuit theory, we can get the equivalent circuit near resonance. Analysis shows that the transducer coil presents inductive impedance. Through comparative analysis of two kinds of matching circuit, namely the series matching circuit and parallel matching circuit, ultimately it determined that the matching circuit is series resonance matching circuit. Then taking a simulation analysis which is the square wave response of the impedance matching circuit, it is concluded that the matching circuit shall be designed for under-damped working. Then driving power supply is designed that its frequency is continuous adjustable. Power supply is mainly composed of four parts, the rectifier, inverter part, impedance matching part and control part.Through the above theoretical analysis, the driving power has been completed the design of main circuit. The main circuit includes uncontrolled rectifier circuit, full bridge inverter circuit and impedance matching circuit. For the inverter circuit, it is designed absorbing circuit for the switch tube. On the basis of the main circuit, control circuit is designed. The operation of the power main circuit is controlled by the control circuit, inverter circuit needs isolation protection at the same time, and it is isolating driving by a driving circuit. At the same time, the frequency tracking circuit is designed of the power supply, in order to realize the frequency tracking and adjusting. The power can realize the function of continuous adjustment frequency.The performance index of driving power for magnetostrictive supersonic transducer has been tested. For the power driving different load, it is carried experimental study. From test and experimental research that the driving power can realize 500Hz~30kHz continuous adjustable frequency. Driving different loads can be realized resonance by impedance matching, and the matching circuit performance is well. At this circuit resonating, the output current can be the maximum. The maximum output voltage is about 250 V, maximum RMS current can reach 6A. By experimental study, the power supply can meet the requirement of transducer load, and can drive different kinds of transducer load.
