The freezing rain disaster is severe weather phenomena in late winter and early spring period that can be seen in some areas.Freezing weather will caused huge losses to people's life and agricultural,industrial,power system.If we forecasted the occurrence of the freezing rain timely and sent a signal,we could reduce the losses caused by freezing rain greatly.Therefore,the development and research of freezing rain sensor have important significance.In this paper,the freezing rain sensor is based on the basic principles of mechanical resonance to ascertain the occurrence of freezing rain.The basic work is vibration-sensitive components of the sensor probe always occur in the magnetic field driven.The basic mode of operation is that the vibration of the sensor probe is caused by the magnetostriction effect of probe material.When there is ice on the surface of the probe,the equivalent natural frequency of the probe will shift.So through the detection of natural frequency offset can judge whether the freezing rain occurs.The design of the magnetostrictive freezing rain sensor mainly include two aspects of hardware,software.The hardware circuit related to modular circuit design which including power supply system,the controller system,the signal amplifying circuit,the relay control circuit,the communication interface circuit,the circuit of the heating and the coil drive detection module.The parameters and structure of the circuit are optimized through the software simulation and the actual test,and made PCB circuit board.In the aspect of software design,we write a program to achieve control of the freezing rain sensor experimental system and realize the related functions.Communication system and computer software was designed accomplish interactive data transmission between upper computer and slave computer.On the basis of hardware software design,the freezing rain sensor prototype was set up and series of tests were conducted.The results show that the prototype to achieve the desired results which proved the feasibility of the design method for freezing rain sensor power.Finally,the application prospect of freezing rain sensor is discussed,and this paper also puts forward a tentative idea about the shortage of prototype which can provide some references for the further research and development of the sensor.
