Nowadays, with the constant development of technology, many non-linear electronic devices have been widely used in power systems. However, In recent times, harmonic pollution of power systems has gone from bad to worse all over the world. Therefore, harmonic governance has become a serious issue. Among them, the main methods of harmonic compensation are reasonable use of filter. Hybrid Power Filter(HAPF)which consists of the passive filter and active filter cannot reduce investment costs of the harmonic compensation system but increase the ratio of performance and price in the system to achieve better harmonic suppression. So special concern has been given to the study of HAPF all over the world.Aiming at harmonic issues, first of all, we carried on the preliminary introduction for the hazard and governance of harmonic sources. At the same time, we also analyzed the development history and review the research status of HAPF.Secondly, several common hybrid active power filters have been introduced, otherwise, we design a kind of structure without transformer and amplify its composition and working principle. In addition, the passive filter tuning values of L and C parameters choice, on the DC bus voltage and capacity of main circuit also has carried on the computation.Thirdly, this paper introduces the traditional ip-iq algorithm. For this kind of filter which without transformer, a frequency-adaptive synchronization detection method was presented. Moreover, simulation models of this HAPF system were built by using Matlab 7.1, the results of simulation showed the modified control strategy could motivate HAPF to eliminate harmonic current effectively, and equip the whole system with a better compensation capability.Finally, the paper designing the HAPF control system which based on DSP, the corresponding hardware circuit including sampling circuit, protective circuit design and software flow process of the main program, interrupt program flow has also been introduced respectively.
