With the high-speed advanced social industrialization as well as the rapid development of science and technology, the amount of energy consumption is also increasing quickly in our country. Survey shows that in the year 2012, the growth rate of the total domestic energy consumption has reached up to 7%to 8%,which accounted for 46% of the world. It tells that the contradictory between the huge energy consumption and the limited amount of non-renewable resources is increasingly highlighting day after day. Under this background, rational energy management has already become one of the solutions which our country advocated for.At present, some companies in our country have already used the energy management system to optimize the energy use of their enterprises. However, today’s energy management system enterprise used also has some limitations, mainly performed as less compatible interface types, small database capacity, smaller range of the monitoring object, and can’t make an effective management of the consumption of large areas.For the existing status, we analyzed the work which needs to be addressed combined with the characteristics of large areas’ energy consumption data and completed needs analysis for energy management systems of large areas. This article made a detailed design which focused on the architecture and functionality of the entire energy management system. Finally, we designed a reasonable energy assessment system, which is mainly to make a reasonable evaluation to energy consumption of the monitor objects and give the corresponding energy-saving recommendations. At last, according to the above design, take a building with a large area for example, we designed a energy management system about it by using of the Kingview software platform and realized the various functions which proposed before. Upon completion of this series functional designs and implementations, in this article,we describe the process of software testing and related acceptance, and do unit testing and system testing about this set of system in accordance with the requirements.In this article,we designed a energy management system which based on the object with a large area,using the existing domestic advanced technology. This system has a certain forward-looking whether on the aspect of user’s practicability or on the aspect of software scalability or else about functional diversity. Finally, from the software acceptance and users’ feedback, This set of software has made a constructive improvement for energy management of modern intelligent buildings with a large area. This issue about the design of energy management system provides a comprehensive solution for the establishment of the current domestic larger egional energy systems.
