The embedded MPC microprocessor is very powerful in the network communication. It has been used widely in network communication area. In this page, research and implementation of the software system of the SHDSL router based on MPC875 microprocessor and VxWorks embedded operation system has been done. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1. The architecture and characteristic of the MPC875 and SDFE-4 transceiver with 4 SHDSL channels have been studied. The characteristic of the main component on the hardware platform are analyzed, and introduced the relationship between CPU,SCI and SDFE-4.2. The characteristics, constitution and wind’s basic function of VxWorks operation system have been studied, and introduced the Tornado integrated development environment. Finally VxWorks image and the way of VxWorks fabricating, downloading are given.3. Design and Implementation of MPC875’s board support package is carried out. Serial driver of SMC channel is design and implementation. And END driver of FEC is design and implementation. During this work, according to the functional and performance requirements of the VxWorks operating system for cutting and transplanting, and gradually increasing the functional components of the system. Through the serial driver, system can print the target machine information to the host computer, to obtain the operational status of the target system. The system image can be loaded through the network port, for the convenience of subsequent development and debugging.4. HDLC driver of the SCC4 channel and PEF24624 driver of the transceiver SDFE-4 are implemented. And the interface function between HDLC driver and PEF24624 driver is implemented. Based on HDLC protocol, MPC875 processor can download the SDFE-4 firmware to the RAM of SDFE-4 via the SCC4 channel. Firmware will configure 4 SHDSL channels, and Router’s 4 RJ11 ports can send and receive data.5. The test result of the system which has been developed is given, each module of the system is stability. The router can support up to 4 times of telecommunications bandwidth.
