Intelligent home offers people convenience, security, comfort and environment protection in daily lives. The rapid development of intelligent home satisfies people’s pursuit of higher quality of lives. In the context of rise and fast development of IOT(Internet of Things), some new technologies and concepts are being used in the field of intelligent home. The characteristics of IOT, e.g., comprehensive sense,reliable transmission, intelligent processing are being reflected gradually in the field of intelligent home.First of all, the thesis introduces the current development situation of intelligent home at home and abroad and analyzes the functional requirements and construction of intelligent home to solve its problems combining the characteristics of IOT. The thesis introduces a monitoring system based on NI Compact RIO embedded platform and Zig Bee technology. Compact RIO is the gateway of the monitoring system and the domestic network mainly consists of Zig Bee wireless networks and hardware designs are accomplished. Aimed at a large number of electrical appliances with infrared remote control, a multi-code self learning infrared remote controller is designed to implement the centralized control of these appliances. Electrical design principles are briefly expounded in the process of PCB layout to guarantee the reliability of the hardware.Secondly, the thesis establishes the B/S software architecture based on MVC model to make sure that the software design has modularity and cross-platform features. The gateway software is developed with Lab VIEW and dynamic web page technology including web client software, web service VI(Virtual Instruments) and local function VI. Z-Stack 2007 protocol suite is applied to Zig Bee communication modules to construct Zig Bee wireless networks that are low-power consumption and easy to expand and realize the data transmission thus various sensors and appliances can be flexibly organized. A kind of simple and practical limit amplitude average filtering method with dead band is proposed to solve the problem that sensor data acquisition is susceptible to noise and this method enhances the anti-jamming abilityof data acquisition and the sensibility of environmental anomaly detection.Finally, the thesis shows the operation status of the whole monitoring system and summarizes the work done. The system testing includes sending commands from web page to domestic network, getting data from domestic network and analysis of data transmission delay from web page to Zig Bee end devices. The testing result reveals that the monitoring system works well on PC and mobile devices and data transmission delay meets the HCI(Human-Computer Interaction)requirements. The testing result verifies the feasibility of the proposed design in the thesis. The thesis also points out the work that can be further improved and perfected.
