With the rapid development of information technology, wireless communication technology and sensor technology, as well as the continuous improvement of people’s living standards, People have become increasingly demanding of the quality of life. Home life as closely related to people’s daily life on the one hand, More and more people pay attention.Thus, the concept of smart home, digital home, building automation, came into being.The emergence of the smart home will provide convenient and quick for people’s work and life,Home life becomes comfortable, secure, humane and intelligent.This paper describes the development of smart home industry at home and abroad,because of the traditional smart home system more use the wired to connect, having wiring trouble, poor system scalability, cost higher shortcomings, but short-range wireless communications technology has flexible networking and system scalability, low cost, Intelligent home systems are increasingly using wireless communication technology has become an inevitable trend of development. In this paper, to compare Zigbee, Bluetooth, UWB, Wi-Fi, infrared, several commonly used short-range wireless communications technology, Based on Zigbee technology with advantages of low power consumption, low cost, large network capacity,etc. So this design uses the Zigbee technology to set up the home wireless network.The design of the hardware part based on the the SAMSUNG S3C2440gateway server,On this basis, through an external GPRS module and the Internet network to realize information interaction with the outside world; domestic Zigbee coordinator node via the RS232serial port connected to the gateway server,Implement the gateway servers and Zigbee terminal nodes of information interaction.The software part completed the Web server software development and Zigbee software development, through Transplanting embedded Linux operating system on S3C2440,and to build QT graphical interface of human-computer interaction, Then under the linux system transplanting Web server, SQLite database and write CGI programs to complete the design of intelligent home gateway. Following, Based on TI company Z-Stack platform to complete Zigbee coordinator node software development and software development of terminal nodes, building the indoor Zigbee wireless communication network.The user can use mobile phone or computer to log in the S3C2440intelligent home control terminal,and then through the Zigbee network to send control commands and information query to sensor nodes. Sensor devices can also send real-time information to the gateway server through a Zigbee network. At the same time, when the family internal intruders, fire alarm and other anomalies, Will send alarm information to the user’s mobile phone via GPRS networks.After the test: The system has basically reached the design requirements. The user can realize intelligent control of household information purpose, has a simple, powerful, low power consumption, as well as a broad application prospects.
