With the rapid development of information technology, the workflow technology is widely applied to the enterprise’s daily business process. More and more ship enterprises use workflow technology as a carrier to promote business process automation of the ship manufacturing and designing process. However, the designing process of ship designing is different to common process. It involves lots of professional fields and has a long life cycle. During the life cycle, the design data in the process has relation between them and comes up to repeatedly modification, so common methods of process management cannot solve these problems. Though these problems can be solved by domain experts in the ship enterprises, this severely restricts the efficiency of the ship designing process. Thus, building a workflow management system, which supports the management of relation data in the ship designing process, can improve the efficiency of the ship designing process.In order to solve the problems mentioned above, a framework of ship designing process aided management application based on mete-model extension is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the paper makes research on the features of the organization structure and designing process of ship designing enterprises, and builds the model. Secondly, proposes the meta-model manage the process in the ship designing process. Finally, proposes the extension of process data model based on the meta-model to manage the relation and state of data object.The main research work is as follows:(1) A framework of ship designing process aided management application based on meta-modelThe framework can be divided into three layers, including data access layer, logical control layer and information interaction layers. The data access layer is responsible for the storage of application data of process, as well as definitions of models and relation between data object; the logical control layer is responsible for the model construction of ship designing process, management of process model according to the ship designing stage, and consistency of the designing data when comes up to changes; the information interaction layer is responsible for the interaction between system and process users to realize the management of ship designing process.(2)Construction of process model based on ship designing processFirstly, divide the stage of ship designing ship designing process according to their features. Secondly, build the meta-model of ship designing process aided management application. The meta-model consists of organization model, process model and resource model. Finally, make classification of ship designing data according to the aspects of profession and structure of ships.(3)Extension of data object based on BPMNOn the basis of ship designing process model, the paper makes extension on data object in the process. Firstly, propose the relation extension of data object. The paper utilize the foreign key attribute to define the relation between different data object. Secondly, propose the operation type extension of data object. The method defines the operation type to the data object instance to detect the change of data object. Finally, show the semantics and database operation of the methods proposed in the paper.(4)Prototype of ship designing process aided management systemAccording to the methods proposed in the paper, a prototype of ship designing process aided management system is designed and completed. The verification of the method proposed in the paper is based on a ship designing process of a certain ship designing enterprise.The prototype implementation and verification results shows that the ship designing process aided management system has certain theoretical value and application prospect.
