The study of indoor positioning technology has many years. People using infrared, radio frequency, ultrasound, WiFi technology developed a lot of indoor positioning systems in and abroad. But, most of them are expensive hardware equipment, high environmental requirements and high consumption. So they are not suitable for large-scale promotion. In recent years, Bluetooth 4.0 technology has made the distance, power and other indicators of significant progress, in particular smart phones which integrated Bluetooth 4.0 have a massive promotion. It is good for research on indoor positioning system provides. In this paper, based on Bluetooth 4.0 and indoor positioning system of smart phones, I study and develop a system named “3D Indoor Positioning System base on BLE”, the main work and contributions are as follows:(1) Designed and implemented indoor positioning system based on BLE. We introduce how the smart phones and iBeacon complete the collection and processing the data using KNN method to calculate the location result. Considering the pressure of smart phones, the system accomplish most work of calculating positioning result. The smart phones is only responsible for the collection and the positioning display. In this way, it reduces system maintenance costs and improves user experience.(2) Designed and implemented location devices based iBeacon technology. We introduce its hardware circuit. We use Balun Circuit to making the power more stable. We use CC2540 stack and change its structure to fit iBeacon standards. Also, it is good for upgrades and maintenance.(3) Designed and implemented the display and interactive of 3D map on smart phones. We solve the problems of 2D map, using VTK and smart phones integration technology. And it improves user experience.In actual application of this system using the above technique can be more accurately positioned. We deploy our iBeacon in lab and test it. In this condition, the transmission power at 1 meter is about-59 dBm and positioning accuracy is about 1.5 meters. So, it can meet the requirements of the basic indoor positioning system.
