Shun Pao is the oldest newspaper in Shanghai,it is China’s first Chinese newspaper with real sense of commercial,It not only has independence in political and economic,but also a modern “Shih Chi”.The period of Yang tseng-hsin’s governance in Xinjiang also is the history of Shun Pao’s prime time which was run by Shi Liangcai.Xinjiang is located in the northwest frontier,Yang tseng-hsin’s press ban policy caused the stagnation of Xinjiang journalism.In fact,there is not too many newspapers for scholars’ reseach in this time,but the news about Xinjiang and Yang tseng-hsin provides us with a new perspective and enrich our press the historical data.To analyze newspaper’s living environment of Yang tseng-hsin’age in Xinjiang,The first part of this paper combined with Shun Pao’s general develop situation which run by Shi Liangcai,then comparative study Yang tseng-hsin period of journalism.The Shun Pao news could be classified as three types:Current Events, Documentary, Commentary. This paper also focus on the reason on why Shun Pao payed news attention to Yang tseng-hsin and Xinjiang.The main part of this paper is news about the political, economic,diplomatic,military of Yang tseng-hsin’age in Xinjiang,this paper will deductive argument when narrate,in this way,the report about events and issues will be rendered completely.To Explore how Shun Pao shaping Yang tseng-hsin’s public opinion,the third part of the new research focus on Yang tseng-hsin’ positive opinions and negative opinion.Finally, the paper will study the Shun Pao’s reporting effects from the historical introspection for Yang tseng-hsin’s press ban policy,the public baptism homeland consciou snessand the qualitative change from newspapers to press the historical data.
