In the recent decade, the amount of vehicles is rapidly increasing in our country, such vigorous growth of vehicles also impose a heavy strain on road traffic system with a high casualty rate of traffic accident. When those traffic accidents are carefully summarizing and analyzing, a point is founded if an improvement can be made for such a situation to help drivers to realize the possibility of traffic accidents in advance, thus most vehicles crashes are avoidable. Based on above background, advanced crash warning system received the widespread attention.Accurate vehicle location information is the foundation of the reliability of the vehicle collision warning system. However, the positional accuracy of vehicle-mounted GPS used currently is far more incompetent for safely driving. Besides, the development and applications of Intelligent Transportation System can be one approach to reduce traffic accidents effectively, meanwhile reduce the traffic accident casualty rate. Therefore, there are two ways to deal with traffic accidents, the first one is improving the positioning accuracy of vehicles, and using technological means to help vehicles to keep a certain distance and realize automatic collision avoidance. The second one is speeding up the construction of Internet of Vehicles. In this way, an intelligent control system can be built to ease traffic congestion and reduce the amount of traffic accidents and the ponderance though obtaining the real-time traffic conditions.This thesis pays attention to such two aspects. It begins with the two weaknesses of frequently-used cooperative positioning algorithm and presents a modified algorithm to improve the vehicles positioning accuracy, in order to be applied Intelligent Transportation System and reduce accidents. According to the vehicle networking collaborative localization algorithm, this paper puts forward a positioning performance evaluation method based on CRLB. And through the simulation experiments, respectively in the ideal channel model and the actual channel model based on strict cluster of collaborative localization algorithm for the performance is analyzed,the analysis results show that the channel is an important drawback of the proposed algorithm. In the Road simulation experiments, such a modified algorithm helps to increase 20% of the positioning accuracy which shows a good performance. Furthermore, it focus on the situation of vehicles networking construction in our country, and establishing a vehicle monitoring system based on LabVIEW, by which it provides a vehicle monitoring and communication method for cars with no need to increase infrastructure. Design scheme of vehicle monitoring system are introduced in detail in this paper, including the choice of development platform, positioning module, communication module, on board system, the monitoring system and software design of each part. Existing vehicle monitoring systems are aimed at government or business sector, and in this paper, the design of system makes individual users can easily access to the monitoring system, and be able to get the position of vehicles and other information in specific area. And finally verified the validity of the designed monitoring system in this paper through the experimental simulation, which shows a good performance.
