With the rapid development of network technology and popularization of liquid crystal display panels, the vivid audio and video information is widely popular with more and more merchants and customers by its great visual impact. There are wide variety multimedia panels in commercial buildings and shopping malls. These programs provide people passing by with a lot of information. What is the carrier for this useful and vivid information? It’s multimedia-resource.Nowadays in this multimedia industry, the systems developed by related company are relatively old, especially on the management of huge number of multimedia-resource. For most management systems, they still need administrators to update resource through changing SD card manually. However with the emergence of more and more intelligent mobile terminal and the popularity of computer network, the systems for multimedia resource management and auto-playing need be revolutionary upgraded. Take last generation of multimedia resources management system for reference, the paper has made detailed analysis and research to forward a new prototype for the multimedia-resource management and publishing system.The paper mainly expound the new generation of multimedia resource management and publishing system, which is divided into two parts. One is about management side and the other is about publishing and playing side. On the management side, users can conveniently use or manage video, image and text resources according to their user privilege. And some administrators can manage remote playing terminal by RS232 command or send programs to terminals. On the playing side, the paper is focus on the resources request and resources dispatch. In order to reduce bandwidth pressure on the management side, P2 P distributed storage is researched and developed in the new system.This topic has achieved prototype system of multimedia resource management and publishing system, which is tested and debugged under lab environment. For real network environment, the system still need further test and debug.
