But due to the particularity of art college, most of the information is the multimedia information, digital preservation has certain difficulty. Along with the modern computer technology, network technology, multimedia technology and database technology the development and wide application, make save a large number of digital multimedia data become possible. Therefore, to create a multimedia database used to preserve these multimedia resources is a very necessary things.Based on the art characteristics, combined with the function of multi-media database, uses the browser/server (B/S) structure, based on the object-oriented design language, and the use of webpage interface design of multimedia database management system developed by Shandong College of Arts, in the Access database to realize the multimedia digital resource management.Main functions and features of this system are as follows:1. uses the browser/server structure, make development easier, improve development efficiency; and reduce the system maintenance frequency, which is combined with the school of the Art Institute of structural features to choose.2. the use of the object-oriented method, application of data manipulation method moved to the objects in the database, and the database has relative independence and transparency.3. uses the Access database technology, easy to learn.
