Future wireless communication systems tend to support multi-services to mobile users. And due to the flexibility in supporting multi-services, CDMA technique is adopted by the 3rd generation mobile communication systems. How to support different QoS requirements of heterogeneous services and utilize the scarce radio spectrum resources efficiently in the situation of error-prone wireless channel is now challenging both 3rd generation mobile communication systems and future personal communication systems. In order to explore the factors affecting the systems while supporting integrated services, we need to study the performance of the multi-service CDMA cellular systems, and it is also one of the key elements in the system planning, meanwhile the exact analysis method is helpful to improve the efficiency of the radio spectrum utilization. In this thesis, we research multimedia CDMA systems with QoS support in order to get better system performance. In chapter 1, we give the research background and the signification of the study. Then, the radio resource management for CDMA system especially the multimedia QoS support in wireless networks are introduced in chapter 2. In 3rd part of the thesis, the multimedia CDMA system is simulated to analyze the different effects on system performance from different services, and then a system evaluation model for multisevice CDMA systems is also proposed. In chapter 4, a channel reserved access control scheme is introduced in order to decrease the system delay and support the application level QoS, fix channel reserved and dynamic channel reserved scheme are simulated and compared to the former scheme without channel reserved.Meanwhile we give a random channel assignment scheme for SDMA systems in chapter 5, numerical results and more realistic analysis in SDMA/CDMA systems are given. At last, the thesis is concluded and the future work is proposed.
