With the demand of raw materials increases in global market, more and more large scale oversea mining projects emerges in recent years, for example in Africa, south America and Australia. During the mine building process, large amount of building materials are needed,and a lot of big size and heavy materials, so the requirement of logistic is a big challenge. A large scale mining logistic information management system will improve the controllability of mine building. This thesis is based on a logistics project for an overseas large scale mining project.In this thesis, the contemporary conditions and existing problems are analyzed and a large scale mining logistic information management system based on Web is designed and proposed. The thesis also proposes the whole demand infrastructure including both functional and nonfunctional demands. The main techniques used in this project as well as the main modules functions and demand process are described and verified in the thesis.It is mainly discussed in this thesis the integration scheme of the whole process of logistics in the J2 EE based logistic information management system, which includes material procurement, booking cargo space, shipment in exporter, sea or air transportation, shipment in importer and storage, and also finance and report modules. Overall, this thesis consists of six parts as introduction, key technical of system, demand analysis and business process,detailed analysis of requirement, deploying and testing and epilogue.This thesis also introduces the main technical background, main contents and author’s tasks, the structure of the article and the role of the author in the project. Also, the related technicals used in the project are introduced in the system key technical module, includingMVC framework, Spring structure, Hibernate structure, J2 EE platform and Jasperreport.Total logistics system demand and process analysis, functional demands and non-functional demands are discussed in the part of general demand analysis. General process and the design of main functional modules are given in the detailed design of the requirement;the process diagram is given in this section. Test cases are given in the testing and validation module, and test results are listed, the main modules are described in way of scenario.Finally, the thesis not only gives a conclusion, but also discusses the application of the work presented in the thesis, and the future work.
