With the development of industrial automation technology will be the next time an important component of industrial production, and will gradually replace the manual manipulation techniques. EPA standard is China’s first to be recognized on the international standard industrial automation true sense, is a milestone in China’s development of industrial automation. By the international certification and the corresponding theoretical scientists deduction by EPA to complete the network engineering regulation period will be the future direction of development of the industry. But the EPA standard of research is still in the primary stage, a good combination of theoretical research has not yet actual use be. The purpose of this paper is based on the status quo of today’s smart meter and EPA propose an effective solution allows two processes integration and innovation. There will C3000 intelligent controller as an example, EPA specifically for use in the smart meter in the corresponding analysis and research. Meanwhile, in order to meet the requirements of the smart meter scalability, breakthrough with the use of programmable logic device CPLD to implement internal data RAM meter exchange between the motherboard and the EPA card. Equipped with this interface card C3000 controller can be directly applied to EPA process control network, while the host computer can perform the appropriate monitoring software through its monitoring operations. EPA’s original interface cards only need a little change on the basis of smart meter can be used, so that EPA can use to save costs and the use of cycles of reform, for the promotion of EPA technology has a positive effect.Work will be performed in this paper are:1. on the bus today, smart instrumentation status quo of China’s field corresponding overview understanding of the relevant concepts and technical processes, and intelligent instrument design EPA interface introduced.2. EPA standards outlined specific content, while the EPA standard application scope, conditions, functional studies. In C3000 process controller, for example, the function and design of EPA interface card corresponding presentation.3. EPA interface card hardware and software design and work flow analysis and research accordingly introduces several design solutions EPA interface card and the corresponding function, identify the advantages and disadvantages of various options through comparative analysis, determine the current best design. The structure and function of EPA interface card of the various components analysis and research, and the use of the process issues that need attention are introduced, given the appropriate sound advice and solutions.4. To VC ++, Windows network programming technology for EPA to conduct an overall test, comparing the advantages and disadvantages of various options.5.
