With the development of microelectronics technology, the appearance of VLSI(very large scale integration) chip microcontroller, combines the computer technology and the measurement and control technologies to form the "intelligent measurement and control system", that is, intelligent instruments. And almost most intelligent instruments have communication interface. GPIB is a standard instruments interface bus which is commonly used because of it is easier to use and flexible to connect. And it is recommended formally by the International Electrotechnical Commission.According to the demand of intelligent instrument of arbitrary waveform generator DDS, a design of GPIB interface which is based on the NAT9914was given in this thesis. The GPIB interface connects the main control chip STM32F103VET6of Arbitrary waveform generator DDS trough FSMC (variable Static Memory, Flexible Static Memory Controller) way, and the interior configuration registers of the NAT9914were visited through it. Another research work of the thesis are software realization of basic functions of GPIB,such as Talk function and Listen function, and parsing SCPI command of arbitrary waveform generator DDS in detail, realize the communication between PC and GPIB interface.On the base of introducing the overall program of intelligent interface of DDS arbitrary waveform generator, the thesis also put out the specific hardware and software design process. it’s divided into four main aspects:Firstly, gave out the research status of the GPIB interface, background, significance and working principle, and after comparing various methods, GPIB interface hardware design programs of DDS arbitrary waveform generator was given; Secondly, through configuring FSMC bus and mapping the address between FPGA and the interface chip on of NAT9914,I complete the functions of GPIB; and then, the thesis complete the parsing program of SCPI command of DDS arbitrary waveform generator by using a binary tree linked list method, and gave out part of the program’s design flow;Finally, the article also put up the method of how to gives the program-controlled platform under LabVIEW and C#environment. The tests showed that the module of programmable interface has good stability and data transmission capabilities able to meet the requirements of practical applications.
