Each enterprise could be in different development stages, such as capital accumulations stage, primary market competition stage, fierce market competition stage and knowledge and capital management stage. Each project even within the same enterprise could be under different internal and external business conditions. Therefore, each project in an enterprise requires respective development process so as to improve its efficiency of communication and management.The embedded product development process that MT Company used was completely copied from hardware product development process. Therefore, it definitely ignored the characteristics of the embedded products and leaded to unreasonable development resource allocation, which finally leaded to a negative result of delayed development lead-time and increased developing cost.The investigation in this thesis focused on the critical problems induced by unreasonable development process of embedded product and adopted SCMS system to fix these problems to achieve the target of efficiency improvement.First of all, current product development process was clearly described for analysis and diagnoses purpose, and then an existing high priority project was taken as an example in which capability maturity model integration tool and ASME method and Activity-Based Costing evaluation method were applied for measurement, so as to find out the key issues and understand the spending time and cost of each activity of the whole process. As a key result of the analysis and diagnoses the non-value-added activities along with spending time and cost were found out and eliminated. Finally, based on creating SCMS system application and the improved development process was figured out and established based on four Levels of the Balanced Scored-Card, so that the goal of significantly decreasing the lead-time and developing cost and enhancing the core competitiveness of the enterprises can be successfully achieved.With regard to the problems of current development process, the thesis proposed required actions for improvement and then established SCMS system and new process with strategy management applied. In order to measure SCMS and the new development process, the capability maturity model integration tool and ASME method and Activity-based costing evaluation were re-applied so as to assess the improvement of new established process.The final assessment result showed the spending time of value-added activities was increased by 17%, and the spending time of non-value-added activities was decreased by 52%, overall the spending time and cost of new development process were respectively decreased by 8% and 9.14%. Finally, the SCMS system and new development process would be applied to all kinds of the embedded product and the ultimate goal of strategic transformation of MT Company can be successfully achieved.
