Research On CMMI-based Software Outsourcing Project Management Support System

With the continuing increase in software demands of global market, software outsourcing has become one important way of software export and software industry internationalization for China. To develop rapidly, Chinese software outsourcing enterprises need to explore ways to improve the efficiency and lower the production costs on the basis of ensuring the quality of products. With the support of National High-Tech Development Project of "Research on Software Support System based on High Performance Wide-band Communication Network", my research focuses on CMMI-based software outsourcing project management.This paper combines the basic idea of software engineering, CMMI model and project management on the basis of pratical experience in software outsourcing project development and management. This paper absorbs the existing software outsourcing project management models and norms, introduces a number of mature project management methods in software outsourcing enterprises. One set of software outsourcing project management program based on CMMI level3 is designed and applied to practical projects. In order to alleviate the burden and enhance the efficiency of project management, one corresponding support system is designed and implemented. In this paper, an application of this system is also detailed.The research results can be applied to software outsourcing projects particularly Japanese projects. They can help to improve the quality, lower the costs and enhance the automation degree of project management. They can also help software outsourcing projects to get products of higher quality.
