CMMI(Capability Maturity Model Integration) certification is developed by U.S.Software Engineering Institute for software product quality assurance standards andquality management. CMMI takes software development as a process, and make processmonitoring and research to software development and maintenance in order to make thatmore standardized, scientific, so that enterprises can achieve its objectives better. In June2010, TISCO(Tai Yuan Iron&Steel Co. Ltd.) Automation Company passed CMMI-3level certification, the software projects management has had a significant changethrough continuously learning, summarizing and techniques and experiences exchanging.On one side, employees’ skill and quality level has promoted, on the other side, themanagement level of the whole company has made a great progress.This article introduces the CMMI system, and analyses the CMMI managementcharacteristics systematically. Then this article emphasizes how TISCO AutomationCompany embarked on the path of development of standardization and documentation,and how it realized comprehensive management to resources, personnel, technology,software, and processes through a series of regulatory processes and documentation.Combining with the actual situation of the company, it established CMMI continuousprocess of improvement methodology. Software process was divided into requirementsdevelopment, system design, coding and unit testing, system testing, user acceptance,demand management, project planning and project monitoring, management, etc, andeach process was further divided into more concrete process, which is impoved in orderto achive the improvement of the entire software process. All in above, the CMMImanagement evolved into a orbicular system.This article aims at introduction to the fruits and experiences TISCO AutomationCompany gained since it has putted CMMI management philosophy into practice. Alsoseveral new problems and theirs solutions implementing CMMI management areproposed to push forward the study and application of CMMI philosophy in Chinese ITCompany.
