GSM-R is the telecommunication system which is developed for railway system. It combines GSM technical and railway service characters. It can provide Voice and data communication for train automatic control. The object of GSM-R is to enhance railway system efficiency, improve the emergency incident recover performance, and then get great achievement in transportation safe and efficiency.Lots of research and design should be done in the GSM to support railway system unique application and keep excellent QOS with high speed travel. The most important thing is to be improve system redundancy and usability which will help system to satisfy the strict reliability request.GSM-R system between Qinghai and Tibet is a milestone for GSM-R comes into China, which combined with the actual situation of China request and the European GSM-R development experience. Many major updates and adjustification have been made to adapt to China market.Intelligent services based on railway system control have been introduced and developed in GSM-R.. The main intelligence services in GSM-R contains: Function addressing, Location dependent addressing, Access Matrix, Enhanced Multi-Level Precedence & Preemption, Voice Group call service, Voice Broadcast call service etc. All the feathers are very unique. This thesis focus on GSM-R system and its intelligent service and also raise the network design problems in the Qinghai-Tibet railway wireless system and give solution to the above problems.
