In recent years, smart TV is developing rapidly, and gets the industry’s concerns. Applications as the key point of competition in the smart TV, get more and more attention from smart TV manufactures. In order to maintain its leading position in the field of smart TV and access to a larger market share, Samsung Electronics China R&D Center has developed a rich Internet client geographic information application based on Guggenheim platform.This paper first analyzes the development of the geographic information applications for smart TV all over the world. Shortly thereafter, introduces the technology used in this application, such as AJAX, Web cache and pre-fetch, map projection, LIBCURL, etc. Then, analyzes the requirement and defines the main function of each module. Finally, describes the Main View module, Cache Service module and Preloader module, which are designed and realized by myself.Main View module is responsible to display and interact with users, using AJAX. Cache Service module is a client cache, using LRU replacement policy, which improves the speed of getting resource and reduces the network requests. Preloader module is used to pre-fetch resource for client, using prediction algorithm, which may store resource for client in advance with multi-thread HTTP network communication and improve the network performance. This application adopts some advanced technologies, such as AJAX, LIBCURL, cache and pre-fetch. Besides, this application provides diversity of services through different Content Provider.
