Computer External Memory And PCI, PCIE Bus Device Test Equipment Design

Computer external memory is an essential part of computer, it has a large capacity. It can store vast amounts of computer data. With the continuous development of technology, the personal computer and server memory interface is also changing. PCI and PCIE bus is the most widely used personal computer interface the present and a period of time after, the equipments based on the two interfaces are more and more. Current computer mainboard is only one or two kinds of external memory interface, only PCI interface or only PCIE interface, and these interfaces are inside the chassis, to testing the equipments based on these interfaces is very troublesome. In this paper, the test device designed can test the equipments based on these interfaces, and it is easy and simple to operate.To develop an appropriate design,we have analyzed the design requirements of the design.We have analyzed several major computer external memory interfaces and PCI, PCIE interface protocol, select the appropriate computer module, select the appropriate chip according to the need for an investigation of the chip comparison to complete the hardware design of the whole test device. Then according to functional requirements, we custom a fit embedded operating systems.The hardware design uses COM Express computer module as the core of the whole test device, and you can choose the type of connector design and location according to the need. COM Express is a highly integrated computer module, it has rich scalable I/O, which can simplify the design process, shorten the development cycle, and simple maintenance, easy to upgrade.The operation of the system use Windows XP Embedded Embedded operating system.The operating system can be customized according to user’s requirements, it has the characteristics of Windows XP, and it can realize the seamless connection with desktop applications. The operating system can only choose the required function according to actual condition, therefore it occupys less resources, and it has protection function.Tests shows that the design of the computer external storage and PCI, PCIE bus equipment testing equipment can test the IDE and SATA, SCSI, SAS interface file and PCI and PCIE bus interface equipment, and it works stability, superior performance, simple operation, meet the actual demand.
