Design And Implementation Of Digital Signage Management Server

Nowadays, digital signage has become a new media in this information era. It has integrated into our daily life gradually. With the rapid development of information technology, more and more digital signage terminals, as well as computers, are connected to networks. Most of them are unattended at ordinary times. It is an important task to ensure that the terminal devices work properly. However, the traditional way of maintenance is not only quite tedious, but also a great expense. Therefore, there is a need to propose an intelligent monitoring system to maintain digital signage terminals in a convenient manner and at a lower cost.A new paradigm in networking, software defined networking(SDN), advocates separating the data plane and the control plane, making network switches in the data plane simple packet forwarding devices and leaving a logically centralized software program to control the behavior of the entire network. This article,based on the full research of a variety of network terminal management, extends SDN to terminal management, and then designs a new management solution- software-defined terminal management. This paper firstly introduces the requirement of terminal management and analyzes some popular management tools and programs. Then, we focus on the analysis and design protocol between controller and terminal, controller and parts of the application components of management server in digital signage. Finally, we test and validate the correctness of the system.Software Defined Terminal introduces the benefits of a centralized approach to terminal management. Compared with the traditional management methods, administrator manage terminal in a uniform manner instead of configuring all network terminals individually. Software Defined Terminal management separates management logic of the terminal to the controller. The controller provides essential management and configuration operations for application components. Application component defines advanced management services by combining these operations. By applying Software Defined Terminal, the administrator can manage the terminal in a convenient way. Besides, it can also respond quickly to the requirements by creating application program.
