Research and development of plantar pressure measurement system, and analysis of plantar pressure distribution in the medical assessment, gait analysis and shoe design play an important role. The design is divided into two parts: one is to improve the self-developed plantar pressure measuring device, and the other is the design and implementation of the data analysis system of the device.Firstly, the original circuit design of the plantar pressure detection device is improved, including communication, power supply, temperature detection, human and machine interface, impedance transformation and the driver firmware, etc. The updated hardware platform with 4 sensor units per square centimeter, is made up of 3 parts: the pressure acquisition board based on piezoresistive film, the ARM sampling control board and the PC control program. Applying ranks scanning principle, the rows and columns of the sensor board are sampled by the ARM control board one by one. Then,the sampled plantar pressure data and temperature data are sent to PC software via USB interface, while the dynamic signal, which is used to adjust the sampling sensitivity of the film, is received from PC program to the control board.Secondly, the data analysis system is designed and implemented as follows:1) The management of personal information and health records is implemented using SQL Server database management technology.2) With the OpenGL specification in Visual C++ MFC framework, the plantar pressure distribution and the RGB color scheme are combined to show2-dimensional and 3-dimensional dynamic pressure pattern of different plantar points through a series of image interpolation processing.3) A variety of analysis charts are generated to identify the pressure differences of different points. Functions of analysis, query and modification of historic pressure data are also provided.4) Account management and permission settings for different users are designed to achieve protection of personal privacy and limits of operating functions.Finally, in order to verify the overall functionality of the system, the various functional modules of the plantar pressure detection system are tested after calibrating the data.
